Our Mission

About WordsHaveWeight.org

We believe words shape norms. Norms shape behavior. And violent rhetoric is a path to ruin.

Our Core Beliefs

What We Stand For

  • Words shape norms. Norms shape behavior.

Language acts as a precursor to physical reality. Violent rhetoric is not harmless—it shapes the operational environment and lowers the threshold for aggression.

  • Disagreement is part of democracy—but threats are anti-democratic.

You can debate policy. You can protest. You can vote. But when rhetoric crosses into threats and intimidation, everyone loses.

  • Law enforcement officers are human beings—and targeting their families is never justified.

Behind every badge is a spouse, a parent, a neighbor. The current climate has stripped them of this humanity.

What We Are Not

❌ Not a Government Entity

We are not affiliated with ICE, DHS, CBP, or any federal, state, or local law enforcement agency. This is a private educational project.

❌ Not Here to "Ban Disagreement"

We support lawful speech and peaceful protest. We only document conduct that crosses into threats, doxxing, and incitement.

❌ Not Here to Demonize Anyone

We don't demonize immigrants, activists, or political opponents. We draw a bright line: Protest is lawful. Threats and intimidation are not.

❌ Not Publishing Harmful Information

We do not publish addresses, doxxing links, or operational details that would endanger anyone—on any side.

Our Single Message

"Violent rhetoric is a dead end. It doesn't create justice; it creates fear, retaliation, and ruin. We are here to draw a bright line: Protest is lawful. Threats and intimidation are not."

How We Document Stories

Our approach prioritizes accuracy, privacy, and responsibility.

Story Verification Standards

  • Verified: Stories backed by screenshots, police reports, court records, or contemporaneous evidence
  • Anonymized: We change names, locations, and identifying details to protect privacy
  • Composite: Some illustrative vignettes are clearly labeled as composite accounts

Redaction Rules

  • No home addresses, license plates, or minors' schools
  • No employer details or faces without consent
  • Metadata removed from all images
  • Dates generalized to prevent identity triangulation
